Hastelloy® is a nickel-molybdenum alloy. There are many different grades of Hastelloy®, many of which are nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys. Each of these grades has been optimized for a specific purpose, but all of them are highly resistant to corrosion. The inclusion of molybdenum makes Hastelloy harder, stronger at high temperatures, and also makes it great for welding applications. These alloys are easily fabricated and formed. They have good ductility and can be forged and cold worked.
